

Lucie Escobar is a vocalist and arranger from Chicago, IL, currently studying Professional Music at Berklee College of Music, with concentrations in music education and contemporary writing and production. As a future educator, they are an advocate for a comprehensive, culturally responsive form of music education, and focused on bringing new genres and styles of music into the traditional, choral setting.
As an aspiring choral conductor and arranger, I have had the opportunity to arrange and record music for a variety of ensembles including SATB, SSAA vocal ensembles, jazz ensemble, and modern rock band.

Lucie Escobar is a Filipino American vocalist and arranger from Chicago, IL, currently studying Professional Music at Berklee College of Music, with concentrations in music education and contemporary writing and production. In their time at Berklee, they have performed at the David Friend Recital Hall, the Berklee Caf, and The Loft as a soloist and in choral ensembles. In the greater Boston Area, they have performed as a member of the Audire Soundtrack Collective Choir at the twice annual concerts for the collective and the Berklee Motion Picture Orchestra. As a soloist and member of the Berklee Philippine Student Association, they have performed at Longy School of Music, Harvard Square Association Fil-Am Festival, Harvard Square Association AsianAm Festival, at District 1’s Kamayan (2023), and other various events in the greater Boston area.Having studied contemporary and jazz vocal technique since they were 12, they have performed an extensive repertoire of music ranging from big band jazz, rock, musical theater, art song, and Original Pinoy Music (OPM.) As a musician, they aim to perform with the same emotional intensity of all the gritty, emo music they grew up with, while displaying the years of technical training they worked to achieve in order to create a unique sound. Primary teachers they have studied with include Rae-Myra Hilliard, Linda Balliro, Ester Andujar, and Taylor O’Donnell.Beginning their arranging journey writing for their high school choir, they have since written for all-treble and SATB choral ensembles, big band, rock band, and other mixed ensembles. Some notable pieces they have arranged are Dahil Sa’yo (SSAA), Is It Really You? (5 horn jazz band), Toothache (SATB, Acapella), God Has A Hitman (SATB + Rhythm Section), and The Death Waltz (SATB + Piano.) In 2025, they received the opportunity to conduct their arrangement of Dahil Sa’yo at the World Music Scoring Association x Society of Composers Spring Concert.Along with their studies, they are the co-president of the Berklee Philippine Student Association, working to promote Philippine music to the Berklee/Boston community, and foster deeper community and understanding within Filipino students at Berklee. Currently, they are working on composing and arranging a setlist for their senior recital as a way of ending their time at Berklee, working on re-working beloved Midwest Emo and jazz tunes, while composing originals.
